Our priority is to keep you and your eyes as healthy as we can. Part of what we do is refraction, which is diagnosing your glasses or contacts prescription, so you can see as clearly as possible. But that’s just where we start. The doctors of Essence Eyecare are also tasked with examining the overall health of your eyes. In fact, by examining your eyes, the doctor can look for early signs of eye-related diseases. Your health is our priority.

Comprehensive Eye Exams

Learn more about what problems can be spotted with an eye exam, what’s involved in a comprehensive exam, and special considerations for kids and contacts.

Pediatric Eye Exams

According to the American Optometric Association (AOA), infants should have their first comprehensive eye exam at 6 months of age. Children then should have additional eye exams at age 3, and just before they enter the first grade around age 5 or 6.

Medical Visits

We can treat pink eye, red eyes, foreign body removal, and more.
